How do I...
Make An Appointment?
Patients are seen in the surgery by appointment. If you feel that you need to see a doctor urgently, any information that you can give helps the receptionists and doctor to assess how best to arrange this.
Although we try to give appointments with the doctor of your choice, this may not always be possible if you need to be seen quickly.
Extended Hours Surgery
There are late evenings session on Mondays and Wednesdays between 6.30
- 8.00pm (last appointment at 7.20pm). This clinic is by appointment only and
restricted to people who worked during routine surgery opening hours.
Keep it or cancel it – but don’t forget it!
If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that it may be given to someone else.

How do I...
Obtain Telephone Advice?
Telephone consultations can now be booked to speak to a doctor. Evidence
has shown that not all patients need to see a doctor face-to-face. In light of
this, when you call for a same-day appointment, the receptionists will probably
ask if you feel your problem can be dealt with over the telephone. They will
then arrange a time for you to call back. This will not replace the normal appointment
booking system. It will be offered as an additional service. If you are not sure,
then book an appointment in the normal way.
How do I...
Obtain A Home Visit?
Home visits are for those patients who are housebound or who are too ill to
come to the surgery. If you are uncertain whether you need a visit, the doctor
on call will be happy to advise you on the phone.
If you are too ill to come to the surgery, please telephone between 8.30am
and 10.30am. Children can nearly always be wrapped up and brought to the surgery
where there are better facilities for diagnosis and treatment. Patients without
cars should seek the help of members of the family, friends or neighbours.
The receptionist will ask for details of your symptoms to allow the doctor to assess your needs.
How do I...
Obtain Test Results?
Telephone requests for results of tests etc. should be made in the afternoons when the post has been sorted. You will find it easier to get through at this time.
There is a receptionist on duty daily from Monday to Friday from 8.00am to
6.30pm, and on Thursdays between 8.00am to 2.00pm.
